The elections for the two vacant seats on the LCDC are live. The primary contacts of relevant organisations were sent email ballots on Wednesday morning at 7.00am and the elections will be open until 11.45pm on Wednesday 17 November. Information about the nominees is here

Our second plenary of the year will take place on Thursday 25 November from 7.00pm – 9.00pm and we would love as many members to come as possible. Sadly, Lord Mayor Alison Gilliland is unavailable to come to the event, but she will send a Deputy to make some opening remarks. Ellenora Lynch will present a draft plan of our first ever 5 year strategic plan, and we will watch one of Paul Woodward’s PPN films. There will be time for networking in groups. Planning and Urban Form Linkage Group & Robbie’s update
Robbie Sinnott, your Planning and Urban Form representative, would like to share the following update about Voice of Vision Impairment:

The Planning and Urban Form Linkage Group will meet again on 08 December, for a follow up session on “how to make a good submission”. This is in reference to the Dublin City Development Plan 2022 – 2028 and will be delivered by Andrew Montague, who delivered the first session back in September. Further details here.
Environment motion from Steven Doody
Steven Doody, of the Secretariat, sent out a motion to all Environmental Pillar groups on Wednesday. The motion is about the use of Glyphosate and Biocides, and it’s Steven’s hope that, once agreed with the Environmental Pillar, we will send this motion out to all the PPNs across the country. Thematic Groups – DTG and MTG
The next Disability Thematic Group meeting will take place on Monday 13 December. The group will be joined by Antonia Martin, from Dublin City Council, who will update everyone on the new Walking and Cycling Action Plan. The group is open to all, and for those who can’t attend, we will be updating our website with the minutes from these group meetings, after the next website upgrade.
The first meeting of the Migrant Thematic Group met on Thursday evening as part of Dublin City Council’s Inclusion and Integration week. This is a completely new group, and we are very grateful to all those who volunteered their time and took part.

The second round of public consultation on DART and South West, is now open and will continue until 17 December 2021. Further details here.
The draft River Basin Management Plan for Ireland 2022 – 2027, is the government’s plan to address water quality issues. The meeting will discuss the plan, and how you can influence it to improve local waters. Registration for a zoom on 23 November from 7.00pm is here and further details can be found here.

As part of their new “The Experience Bank” project, Dublin City Volunteer Centre (DCVC) is looking for mature volunteer Community Ambassadors who are interested in supporting people in their local community to embark on their personal volunteering journey. Dublin City Volunteer Centre are also offering places on their Fundamentals of Volunteer Engagement Training. This is a new, 2 module, FREE online course, designed to meet the needs of volunteer managers in a changing world. This short course is excellent for those who are new to the topic of volunteer management and leadership, or who wish to improve their skillset.
