The Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC) would like to invite Dublin City PPN to participate in the 2022 Climate Conversations.
Volunteers are required to lead sessions, with 10 – 20 people, and feed back this information into an online platform called “Citizen Space”. Training on how to use “Citizen Space”, is the first part of this process, and this training is available on 25 and 26 May either from 1.00pm – 2.00pm or from 6.00pm – 7.00pm

Community Law and Mediation invite you to a webinar on environmental rights/planning and environmental decision making, on 01 June, from 9.30am – 10.30am Speakers include Mickeal Kinsley and Phoebe Duvall and you can register and find out more here.

Offaly County Council has agreed to stop using chemical-based glyphosate weed killers in its parks and on public roads on a trial basis. Readers of the Dublin City PPN Bulletin will remember that the Environmental Reps and Secretariat recently asked its members to support such a motion for Dublin City Council. Finally, The Last Thursday of the Month Members Meet-Up in June, is called “Keeping it Environmental” and details about the guest speaker will be announced very soon. This is a great chance to meet up with other groups that have an interest in environmental issues, and you can find out more here.
News from the wider PPN
The second DRCD Information Session about the Community Centres Investment Fund, is taking place on Wednesday 01 June from 2.30pm – 4.00pm This is a new capital fund of €15 million, which will provide funding for the improvement and refurbishment of existing community centres. Registration for the Information Session here.
The Dublin to Galway Cycle is back on the 23– 25 September 2022. All the proceeds from the event will go to Headway, a not-for-profit organisation that provides support to individuals with an acquired brain injury and their families. Headway is a member group of the PPN. Tickets available here.
Dublin City Council would like to invite you to celebrate Africa Day on Saturday 21 May at Belvedere Youth Club. Many activities are taking place from 11 – 4.00pm including a workshop with Story Tellers, with the PPN’s Arts Representative, Adekunle Gomez. More information about the event here.

- Please register if you would like to come to the PPN Plenary in St Patrick’s Cathedral, on 26 May, from 7.00pm – 8.30pm here.
Deputy Lord Mayor, Cllr Joe Costello will launch the PPN’s first ever 5 Year Strategic Plan, which was developed and delivered by Elenora Lynch. Two of the PPN films, directed by local film maker Paul Woodward, will be screened and there will updates from members of the Secretariat.
Refreshments will be served in the Lady Chapel, and everyone is welcome.
- Please also register for one, or more of the PPN/DCU Summer School sessions HERE. We are offering nine, FREE, 2-hour, in-person training sessions from 30 May to 04 June, on a wide variety of topics and themes.
Topics include: trans awareness, conflict management, communicating, social media, equality, chairing an effective meeting, resilience, project management and public speaking skills!
Sessions take place from 10 – 12.00pm and 1.00pm – 3.00pm Monday to Friday, with a different lecturer/trainer for each session. All welcome!
