Training Opportunities this Autumn (this weekend, and next week).
There are still some places left on this weekend’s “How to 2” training, with Ellenora Lynch, at Carmichael on:
Friday 22 September, from 4.00pm – 6.00pm and
Saturday 23 September, from 10.00am – 4.00pm
This training follows on the from the “how to” training in February, aimed to support and guide elected representatives and Secretariat to fulfil the responsibilities of their roles. Registrations for this year’s Festival of Fundraising (25 September – 28 September) are LIVE. Online, in person, daytime and evening workshops and one-to-one sessions are FREE for Dublin City PPN members, but you must register before-hand. Further details here.

Stephen Rourke, who is one of the PPN’s consultant facilitators, would like to share a position paper for the PPN’s Planning and Urban Form linkage group. You can access and read the position paper here.
Member groups that would like to join the Environmental Pillar of the PPN, must be approved by the Irish Environmental Network. Catherine O’Toole, of the Irish Environmental Network (IEN), and the Dublin City PPN Secretariat, would like the share the following documents with PPN members. These documents are the criteria and application forms for joining the Environmental Pillar of the PPN, and you can download them here.
General Information
This year’s #MakeWayDay is on Friday 21 September. Make Way Day is a campaign that brings the disability and wider community together, to consider the needs of people with disabilities in the public spaces we all share. It is led by the Disability Federation of Ireland and is a unique collaboration across Ireland and the voluntary and local government sectors, and you can find out more and get involved here.
The National Disability Authority would like to invite PPN Members to the NDA’s Annual Conference on 26 October, in the Aviva Stadium. The theme of the conference is, “Guaranteeing the equal participation of disabled people in political and public life in Ireland – UNCRPD Article 29” and further information can be found here.
Dublin City Council has published its draft climate action plan, “Climate Neutral Dublin, 2030”, which sets out the actions that will be taken by the city council to prepare the city for the known impacts of climate change: flooding, sea level rise, extreme weather events and drought. A public consultation is now open for the Dublin City Centre Transport Plan of 2023. The publication of this plan is an objective of the Dublin City Development Plan 2022 – 2028, which was adopted by the elected members in November 2022, and of the Transport Strategy of the greater Dublin area, as approved by the Minister for Transport in January 2023. Dublin City Council, with the support of the National Transport Authority proposes to provide 1.6 km of improved walking and cycling facilities from Holles Street junction, along Mount Street Lower and Northumberland Road, to Lansdown Road Junction.
