The Irish Environmental Network (IEN) would like to invite PPN member groups, Representatives and Secretariat to a webinar on 29 April at 6.30pm called, “Motion for the Ocean”.  Join the webinar to hear what actions local authorities can take to benefit the ocean.  Speakers include:  Donal Griffin from Fair Seas.  This motion is a series of eight evidence-based pledges, carefully designed to focus on the actions that will deliver the greatest benefit for all ocean health.

The IEN would also like to invite you to an in-person event called, “Connecting through our shared landscape” on 11 May from 11.00am – 4.00pm in Taughmaconnell Hall, Ballinasloe.  You can register for this event here.

“Explore a unique hidden landscape that has shaped our history, myths, folklore and our connection to the land over thousands of years.  Join us for a guided tour of the karst landscape of south Roscommon, and discover the plants and animals that live there”.

Phibsborough Tidy Towns/Connecting Cabra and Cosybatter would like to invite you to a FREE event called, “Warmer Homes Application Support”, which will guide you through the process of applying for an energy upgrade, with experts on hand to help.

This event is on Saturday 13 April, from 11.00am – 2.00pm at the Christ the King Day Centre, Cabra, Dublin 7.

All Together in Dignity (ATD) invite you to their event, “Creative Pathways to Participation” on Tuesday 7 May at 2.00pm in Trinity College Dublin.  The film screening, poetry reading and conversation will take place in the Robert Emmet Lecture Theatre, in the Arts Building and all are welcome.

The Five Lamps Arts Festival is officially launched!  From 20 March to 20 April 2024, the North Inner City community light up with 200+ artists, over 30 events in 15 different venues with 30 nationalities uniting to celebrate culture, history and inclusivity.  Details about the festival are here.

  1. “How to prevent your meeting from being railroaded”, on zoom, on Wednesday 17 April from 10.30am – 11.30am with Dun Laoghaire PPN, Dublin City PPN and Carmichael.  FREE registration here.
  • “Breaking the Cycle – Role Rotation” on Wednesday 24 April, from 10.30am – 11.30am, on zoom and the FREE registration is here.  This is presented by Carmichael for DCC and DLR PPN member groups.

Updates from Representatives and Secretariat

All Strategic Policy Committee (SPC) meetings can be accessed here.  It is easy to find minutes, reports, presentations, and other documents for each meeting, under the areas of housing, traffic and transport, planning and urban form, culture, finance, economic development and climate action.  All these seats will be vacant later in 2024.

Information about the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) meetings can be accessed here.  Two of the five seats will be vacant later in 2024.

Please contact Ruth and/or Rachel if you would like more information about the role of PPN representatives on the new SPCs to be formed, after the local elections on 07 June 2024.
