The Migrant/Minority Thematic Group (MTG) were delighted to attend and support the 4th Latvian Cultural Festival in Ireland, which was colourful, international and widely attended.
The event featured over 300 participants from Latvian artistic groups and schools across Ireland, individual performers, skilled artisans and food vendors, as well as guests from Estonia, Lithuania, Georgia, Mongolia, Peru, China and a variety of Brazilian and African communities in Ireland.
Thousands of visitors attended the celebration, which was also covered by The Irish Times, Latvian Television and the global Latvian platform latviesi.com
The festivities began with a parade through Dublin’s Old Town, followed by a 5.5 hour concert, where people could enjoy food, music, interactive folk dancing and a festive party in a local pub!
The migrant/minority thematic group (MTG), was established as a place where PPN member groups that worked with and for migrants, could come together, support one another, and learn about and promote the core work of the PPN. To this end, 4 migrant groups supported the Latvian Cultural Festival with stands, promoting their artisanal tea and food, dance and music performances.
The festival continues to grow each year in scale and spirit, thanks to the tireless efforts of the dedicated organising team, generous supporters and passionate participants. We hope that the MTG, will be supporting this wonderful Dublin City event in 2026.
