The Meeting Place Club

The Meeting Place Club is a non profit committee and they are focus on children, teenagers, and adults with special needs. The goal is to provide individuals in the community with information and support around conditions under the spectrum, for example, ADD, ADHD, Asperger Syndrome, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, PDD, NOS, and other grey areas.

They arrange workshops, day and special events for teenagers with special requirements and their parents, carers, and supporters.

We follow the founder of the Club, Sandra Dillon, in this video as she talks about the Club, shows the facilities, and gives us a peek into some of the activities of the Club.

Seniorline Third Age

SeniorLine is a confidential listening service for older people provided by trained older volunteers and managed by Third Age Ireland.

Our lines are open every day from 10am to 10pm, 365 days a year, including Christmas Day, St Stephen’s Day and New Year’s Day. Seniorline remains open when many statutory services are closed, and is recognised as a primary health care service helping to support older people in their community. Freephone 1800 80 45 91.

As well as responding to individual callers, Seniorline advocates nationally for older people in Ireland, representing their needs, concerns and wishes to media, the general public, politicians and key stakeholders.

We meet Damian Leneghan and Anne Dempsey who talk about the organisation and how they overcame the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Finglas South Combined Residents Association

The Finglas South Combined Residents Association is an umbrella organisation for various residents associations in the south Finglas area.

We meet Martin Hoey, John Redmond, and Peter Glynn who explains what the association does, how it keeps people informed of happenings in their local areas, and how it represents the communities, businesses, and other organisations in south Finglas.

As part of this they talk about how they are engaging, and are involved, with the Dublin City PPN’s linkage groups and committees to make themselves heard with local government, law enforcement, and planners for the betterment of their communities.
