Many thanks to everyone who came along in person, and online, to the “Meet the Reps Networking Event (plenary)” at Wynn’s Hotel, on 21 November.  The evening was a great success, and we have uploaded the photos from the event here.  We would like to thank Clare O’Connor, who was the MC for the evening; Catherine O’Toole for her update on behalf of the Secretariat (which you can read here); and Tess O’Kennedy, for her presentation on the Community Volunteers programme from Dublin City Volunteer Centre.  You can find out more about this programme here.

The Latvian Choir and PPN Migrant Thematic Group (MTG), would like to share an update with the PPN about the Latvian Independence Day event, to celebrate Dublin City Council’s Integration and Inclusion week here.  “A warm sense of unity, patriotism, Latvian identity, the dominance of young families, the new generation, quality, splendour and elegance…”

Walter Brennan, from the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales, is looking for respondents from Dublin to participate in his survey, called “Can hemp help reduce Ireland’s greenhouse gas emissions linked to the built environment and agricultural industry, though carbon sequestration?”  You can find the link to that survey here.

Dublin Learning City is delighted to present a new issue of their newsletter, which you can access here.  If you are interested in finding out about lifelong learning opportunities in Dublin, hearing from a wide range of educational experts and learners from all backgrounds, this newsletter is for you.  Next year’s Dublin Learning City Festival will take place from 07 – 09 April.  If you would like to get involved, please email

Applications are now open for Training Links 2025 – 2026!  Training Links funds and supports networks of community and voluntary organisations to undertake training together.  Applications are now open, and the deadline is 5pm on Friday 07 February.  You can find out more here.

Dublin City Council (DCC) are pleased to announce the opening of the Community Recognition Fund 2024:  round three.  This funding is specifically targeted at projects that are in areas of Dublin City that are hosting the beneficiaries of Temporary Protection and/or International Protection Applicants.  You can read more about this funding here

Amal Women Ireland invite PPN member groups to tender for Equal Employment Opportunities and Accessibility to Muslim Women. The Amal Women Ireland is a Muslim women-led organisation, that provides frontline services to Muslim women and women with a connection to the Muslim community nationwide.  You can read more about the tender here.

Training and Events

We would like to thank all the newly elected, and re-elected PPN Representatives, who came to the New Reps Training with Ellenora Lynch, online, and at Wynn’s Hotel on 26 and 27 November.  This training covered the basics of what the PPN is, and its objectives and structures, and how the PPN Representatives can best communicate with the rest of the network.  More updates on this, as it develops…

City of Dublin Education and Training Board (ETB) invite you to an online information session on Tuesday 10 December from 12.00 – 12.45, to learn more about the QQ1 Level 5 Community Development Course, tailored for frontline community works:  Community Development Practice/Understanding Community Development.  The link to the information session is here:  or you can email  for further details.

Updates from the Secretariat and Representatives

Many of the new PPN Representatives have now had their first Strategic Policy Committees (SPCs) meetings and are beginning to represent you at committee meetings.  You can watch the SPC meetings online, and/or contact your reps.  You can access the full list of PPN Representatives, on the PPN website here.

The Secretariat of Dublin City PPN will meet for one last time, this year, on 10 December, and if you have any comments or feedback for them, please reply to this email, and it will be included in their meeting.
