Information

Africa Day:  Africa Day is the annual celebration of the continent’s cultures and people and falls on Thursday 25 May each year.  This year, Dublin City Council in partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs will organise a special and unique Africa Day celebration on Sunday 19 May in Dublin City Centre.  PPN Member Groups are invited to participate in this year’s event to celebrate African cultures and the links between Africa and Ireland.  If you would like your member group to be involved in Africa Day, please complete this “registration of interest” form here:  The PPN Migrant Thematic Group (MTG) has completed the form, and expressed its interest in having a stand on Africa Day, and being able to share information with the public about the groups’ work.

The Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC) are accepting expressions of interest for participants for the 2024 – 2025 Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) champions programme until 5.00pm on 01 April.  You can read more about the roles and responsibility, how to apply and the application questions here.

Dublin City University (DCU) invite you to a workshop called, “Culture on Prescription (COPE)” on 25 March, from 10.30am – 12.00pm in Room HG17 on the DCU campus.  Further information about this event can be found here.

Training

“Understand your purpose – how to write and update your groups’ constitution” online, on Thursday 21 March from 7.00pm – 9.00pm.  You can register for this FREE training support here.  This event is for the member groups of Dublin City and DLR PPNs and there will be an element of networking built into the evening.

National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA) invite you to an “introduction to literacy” webinar on 21 March, from 10.00am online.  You can register for this one hour session here.  The same session is offered again on 25 April from 10.00am and the link for this registration is here.  These sessions will give you tips for how to support people sensitively and the importance of using plain English.
