PPN Bulletin

Information

The PPN Disability Thematic Group (DTG) hosted an event at the Mansion House on Wednesday 20 March, called, “Access Issues to the Public Realm in Pictures”.  The Lord Mayor, Cllr Daithí de Róiste, made opening remarks and guests were invited to look at the photography exhibition that highlighted accessibility issues in Dublin City.  Members of the DTG spoke about inclusivity and equity and if you would like a copy of the brochure of the photography exhibition, please contact the DTG.

The Dublin Learning City Festival will take place this year, from Monday 15 April to Wednesday 17 April, and will include a diverse number of free events and activities for all ages and interests to enjoy.  If you would like to register your group to host an event, or look at what events to attend, you can do that here.

Training

The Wheel have developed a series of online, FREE, training workshops for PPN member groups throughout the country.  The most recent workshop was called, “Leadership, Motivation and Resilience” and was delivered by Carol Conway from Freelance Catalyst.  This presentation, and the other training resources developed by The Wheel can be accessed here.

Volunteer Ireland invite you to a FREE, online training support called, “Inclusion in Volunteering” on Thursday 28 March, from 2.00pm – 5.00pm  This workshop will be of use to any group or organisation working with volunteers, and you can register here.

Updates from Representatives and Secretariat

All Strategic Policy Committee (SPC) meetings can be accessed here.  It is easy to find minutes, reports, presentations, and other documents for each meeting, under the areas of housing, traffic and transport, planning and urban form, culture, finance, economic development and climate action.  All these seats will be vacant later in 2024.

Information about the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) meetings can be accessed here.  Two of the five seats will be vacant later in 2024.
