Planning and Urban Form SPC

The following areas fall under the responsibility of the Planning and Urban Form Strategic Policy Committee:

Heritage; Property Management; Building Control; Strategic Projects; Planning Services; Regional Planning Guidelines; Development Management; International Relations; Urban Renewal; Conservation; Tourism

Current policy issues discussed at meetings are:

Review of the Dublin City Development Plan 2016 – 2022; Protocol on the erection of banners at City Centre locations; Derelict Sites and Vacant Land Levy Draft Legislation; Vacant land audit – Case Study: Red LUAS Line; Housing Supply – Report of Dublin Housing Task Force; Henrietta Street Visitor Centre; Dublinbikes Scheme; Living City Initiative; Review of Section 48 Financial Contribution Scheme;

There are a minimum of five meetings per year, generally held every two months on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 3.30pm. Generally there are no meetings in July are August.

Role of the PPN Representative:

  • Attends and participates at the committee they were elected to.
  • Represents the views and concerns of members to the relevant policy committee
  • Represents all the members of the PPN and not just their own group
  • Feeds back to the PPN membership through reports, presentations and meetings (linkage meetings)
