Monday 26 September

An online “Welcome to the Festival” from Kevin Delaney of Academy Street Workshop. Kevin will introduce the week, explain the sessions, and talk about the live fundraiser, which will take place with Carrie Benn of SPIRASI.

7.000pm – 8.30pm Introduction to Fundraising
*Introduction to Fundraising* session, on zoom. Kevin will lead an informal, participatory session on the basics of fundraising for small groups and organisations. He will discuss some of the challenges and opportunities for small groups and be available for questions and comments.

7.00pm – 8.30pm How to write good grant applications
*How write good grant applications*, with Angela Shafer, from Northside Partnership.
Angela will share her knowledge and experience of writing good, solid grant applications and Kevin will facilitate a question and answer session after Angela’s presentation. Angela will discuss the “do’s and don’ts” and “Top Tips” for organisations trying to complete grant applications.
This will be an in-person event at the Macro Community Resource Centre and refreshments will be provided.

7.00pm – 8.30pm Fundraising for Migrant and Ethnic Minority Groups
An evening session about the specific fundraising challenges for organisations working with and for migrants.
Kevin Delaney will facilitate a session, and there will be updates from Dublin City Council integration officers and a chance to network with other organisations that have similar challenges.

7.00pm – 8.30pm A panel discussion
Kevin Delaney will facilitate a panel discussion with four key speakers: Frances Hayden from Dublin City Volunteer Centre, Carrie Benn of SPIRASI, Sinead Christian of the Irish Wheelchair Association, and Helen McVeigh of the Irish Hospice Foundation.
The four speakers will share their knowledge and experiences of fundraising in an informal discussion, and will be available to answer questions from the audience. The spirit of this panel discussion is to share experiences of good practice (and the horrors of some bad practice), and to continue to inspire and encourage PPN Members to keep to their fundraising goals.
