Dublin City PPN welcomes home all the Irish people recently detained for attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, including, Sarah Clancy who is the coordinator of the Clare PPN, and Diarmuid MacDubhghlais, who is the former PPN Representative on the Housing SPC, from member group, Meeting Place Club. Welcome home.
On 07 October, the PPN gave a presentation to Ms Kata Tüttő, President of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR), about the PPN and the Leipzig Declaration. Social Justice Ireland (SJI) will offer analysis and critique of Budget 2026 in Buswell’s Hotel from 11.00am 08 October onwards. You can read updates, summaries and comments on the budget on their website here or on the SJI social media channels of X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or BlueSky.
The Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment (DCEE), invite PPN member groups to participate in a consultation on Ireland’s Social Climate Plan. The open public consultation was launched on 11 September and will close on 23 October. Amal Women Ireland invite you to an event called, “The Community Profile of Muslim Women in Ireland and Needs Analysis”, which will present the findings of research, highlight the experiences of Muslim women, and provide a platform for how people can work together to support and empower the community. Love Actually invite you to celebrate the mid-autumn festival as part of China’s 2025 Ministry of Culture and Tourism series, “A Moonmoment to Remember” on Saturday October 11, from 1.00pm – 4.00pm at the National Gallery of Ireland. You can read more about this festival and event here.

This session is designed for those who are new to writing grant applications or those who would like feedback on applications they are currently completing.

Updates from PPN Representatives, and Secretariat
The main aims of the PPN are to offer information and capacity building training to member groups, so that they can more actively participate in local authority decision making. To that end, the PPN has 21 representatives on seven Dublin City Council Strategic Policy Committees (SPCs), and the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC).
Each representative comes from a pillar: the community and voluntary pillar or the social inclusion pillar, or the environmental pillar. And these pillars have working groups. Consultant facilitator, Ellenora Lynch is offering support sessions to each of these pillar working groups throughout the autumn.
