Information

Dublin City Council (DCC) invite you to participate in their open public consultation on College Green.  You can do so by following the link here:  Last year, Dublin City PPN worked closely with Clare O’Connor on supports for how to make an effective submission, and you can follow her work here.  Follow up guidance from Clare to come soon.

Community Work Ireland and the European Anti Poverty Network Ireland (EAPN), would like to invite PPN member groups to a series of workshops which aim to advance action on ending poverty and social exclusion.  You can read more about the content of the workshops, and register for them individually here.

Volunteer Ireland invite PPN member groups to mark International Volunteer Year 2026, by celebrating and recognising the incredible contributions of volunteers everywhere.  One suggested action, is to volunteer 26 hours in 2026, and you can take the pledge to this by following the information on this link here.

Age Friendly Ireland invite you to learn all about their AI:  Ireland’s National Artificial Intelligence Literacy Initiative for Older Adults at the Senior Times 50 Plus Show at the RDS from 12 – 13 March.  The Senior Times 50 Plus show is a series of regional events aimed specifically at older people.  If you can’t make the show, you can still read about the initiative on the Age Friendly website here.

Shared Green Deal invite you to participate in a webinar called, “Ripple Effects Toolkit:  how local actors can drive change from the “in-between””.  You are invited to co-create, test and experiment with the Ripple Effects Toolkit, which builds on your experience of working in the space between individual action and wider institutional change.  You can sign up for the workshops here.

Dublin City Council are currently running a Citizen Sentiment Survey on their digital consultation platform.  The Dublin City Council corporate plan 2025 – 2029 is the local authority’s strategic framework for action.  The plan links key elements such as policy, organisation, operational activity, governance and performance management.  Everyone who lives and works within the Dublin City Council catchment area, can complete the survey here.

PPN Member Group the Rediscovery Centre, invite PPN member groups to share and apply for two new roles at the Centre.  You can read the job descriptions for these new exciting roles here.  The Rediscovery Centre would also like to invite all PPN members along to its FREE Repair Café at the Centre on Saturday 28 March.  Got something in need of repair?  Bring your broken bikes, furniture or textiles and learn how to fix them, with the experts.  Book your slot here.

The Latvian Society in Ireland would like to share a new platform with PPN member groups.  Eventslbi.ie is a free, non-profit, platform helping community organisations across Ireland reach more people.  Amazing local events happen every day, but too many never make it beyond a small audience  – this platform is here to change that.  It will offer your events visibility beyond social media, access to a new and wider audience, dedicated space where people actively look for community events and it’s simple, free and effective.  If you run a community organisation or group, you’re warmly invited to join.

Updates from the PPN Representatives and Secretariat

The PPN aims to share information and capacity building training, so that member groups might participate more in local authority decision making.  To this end, Dublin City Council invite 20 PPN Representatives to sit on a number of Strategic Policy Committees (SPCs), and the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC).  A full list of the PPN Representatives can be found on the PPN website here.

The PPN has a nine-person Secretariat who steer the strategic development of the PPN, and a full list of the PPN Secretariat can be found on the PPN website here.

Dublin City PPN has nearly one-thousand-member groups, and its these member groups that are offered the chance to network with one another, learn from one another and share skills with one another, so that the PPN can be as representative as possible.  If you would like the PPN staff to give your member group a presentation about the benefits of being an active member of the PPN, please get in touch with Ruth or Siobhán today.
