A big, enormous thank you to all those PPN member groups that got involved with activities and events throughout April and May.  Many thanks to the Migrant/Minority Thematic Group for promoting the PPN at Latvian Independence Day and Africa Day.  Many thanks to the Representatives and Secretariat, who gave updates at the Plenary in the Deanery, and to all those who came along to the 5th annual PPN/DCU Summer School.  Finally, thank you to the Disability Thematic Group, who organised an event to mark Make Way Day and A Thriving City for All.  We will have summaries of all these events on the website for the next bulletin!

Re-registrations:  please check that you have completed your re-registration form for Siobhán.  The PPN is requested to re-register all member groups, from time to time, to ensure we have the most up-to-date information possible.  If you have received an email about re-registering, please respond and then we can update our Members Directory here.

Anam Cara invite you to a Bereavement Information Evening for bereaved parents.  All Anam Cara events are free and open to parents whose child, or children have died, regardless of the age of their child, circumstances of their death or time since bereavement.  Please share this important work with members from your groups and networks, and the event will take place online on Thursday 04 June at 7.00pm

Powerscourt Estate invite you to nominate people, small businesses and community groups and projects in Dublin City for the Working with Nature Awards here.  The overall winner will receive a place on the “Leaders for Nature” programme alongside the ultimate Powerscourt Experience prize package.  Nominations are open until 11 June.

The Land Development Agency (LDA) has submitted a large scale residential development application to Dublin City Council for a significant new residential development at Clongriffin, Dublin 13.  You can read more about the proposal and further information here.

The newly launched Dublin Disabled Persons Organisation (DPO) was launched earlier in the year at the Mansion House and had its first Annual General Meeting to adopt its constitution.  Dublin DPO would like to ask any PPN members if they would like to attend their next meeting on Wednesday 17 June from 7.00pm – 8.30pm online.  Email Peter Kearns   if you would like further information about Dublin DPO or if you would like to attend this meeting.

Dublin City University’s (DCU) “Thrive” project, is interviewing people who have engaged in public consultations to improve how local authorities process public feedback.  If you have shared your views on housing, development and urban issues and wish to help improve democratic responsiveness, please get in touch at

The final application deadline for the 2026 National Age Friendly Recognition and Achievement Awards has been extended to Friday 05 June, and Age Friendly Ireland is encouraging applications from projects that help older people feel safe and secure at home, and in their communities.  Full details about the application are here.

Dublin Community TV (DCTV) will air a new short documentary about Masamba Samba School on Monday 08 June, at 12.30pm This is a terrific opportunity to find out more about PPN member group, Masamba, and the wonderful work they do in the community.  DCTV Channel 802 Virgin Media and DCTV LIVE

Dublin City Council (DCC) South West Inner City Community and Social Development Team is updating its database to improve communication, share opportunities and strengthen connections with local groups in the area.  You can sign up to the mailing list here.

Fundraising and Grants Information

Dublin City Council’s (DCC) Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) and The Wheel, provide local community and voluntary not-for-profit groups in Dublin City with access to three great resources:  The Funding Point Local Digest; The Wheel’s Fundraising Guidance Library and The Wheel’s Fundraising helpdesk.  This is everything you need for fundraising and applying for grants and the June – July update is available here.

Charities Institute Ireland (CII) invite you to Fundraising Labs, at the National College of Ireland on Thursday 03 September, from 9.00am – 5.00pm  Fundraising Labs is built around the idea that the best learning happens when people roll up their sleeves and work through real challenges together.  Further information here.

Updates from the PPN Representatives and the PPN Secretariat

The best way to find out about the core work of the PPN is to watch the PPN Representatives in action.  Dublin City Council (DCC) have an excellent webcast resource.  This means, that you can watch the PPN Representatives live at the committee meetings, or later from the archive.  Recent webcasts would be:  Mobility and the Public Realm SPC, Community, Gaeilge, Sport, Art and Culture SPC, Finance SPC, and you can access those meetings here.  You can subscribe to the webcast and be notified by email about the webcasts that matter most to you.
