The Health Service Executive (HSE) invite PPN member groups to participate in and share their “Balancing Stress” programme, which is a 6-session, online, self-paced course of practical ways to deal with stress, worry, anxiety, low mood and depression. The six sessions are: understanding stress, managing worry, managing anxiety, managing low mood and depression, stress and relationships, balancing stress now and into the future. Practise here.
Dublin City University (DCU) in the Community invite you to a 6-week course entitled ‘Cultural Health Psychology: “Does the Man Flu Exist?”‘. This course explores how physical and mental illnesses are experienced differently across cultures, raising questions such as “is it all in our heads?” or does the ‘Man Flu’ really exist? Throughout this course students will answer questions like these through examining the intersections of physical and psychological health, as well as how both are impacted by culture and meaning we make of the world around us. Key topics include: The differences in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses across cultures, the evolution and use of superstitions to combat illness, as well as the ways in which psychology can be used to impact global health.
Cavernoma Ireland is marking June as Cavernoma Awareness Month, with an awareness campaign aimed at improving understanding of a rare condition affecting the brain and spinal cord and supporting individuals and families across Ireland. More information is available at www.cavernomaireland.ie.
Dr Catherine Smith, invites PPN member groups to art sessions in Dublin 7 on Thursday 11 June and Thursday 25 June from 11.00am – 12.30pm This is a gentle contemplative practice, followed by an art session which supports creativity and play. You can find out more about the sessions here.

The Social Inclusion Pillar Working Group recognise that it would be beneficial to have an agreed shared understanding / set of principles in relation to Social Inclusion. The group would greatly appreciate input / a wider perspective from the social inclusion pillar members and therefore invite you to attend a facilitated online workshop on 16th June 7.00 – 8.30pm so that everyone can explore this, together.
