Dublin Northwest Partnership (DNP), together with the PPN host, Dublin City Volunteer Centre (DCVC), invite you to the “Experience Counts” information session about volunteering opportunities for people aged 50 and above.  This FREE session is at the Axis Art Centre in Ballymun, from 2.30pm – 3.30pm on Tuesday 03 February and you can register here.

Dublin Northwest Partnership (DNP), invite you to their Social Inclusion Seminar, at the Carlton Airport Hotel, from 9.00am – 1.00pm (followed by lunch), on Friday 06 February 2026.  There will be a number of presentations from groups that received the DNP community grant in 2025, and information about the 2026 grants.  You can register here if you are certain you will attend.  Last year, there were a number of no-shows, so please only register if you are nearly 100% certain you can attend.

An Taisce invite PPN Member Groups to register for the 2026 Spring Clean.  Your group can get involved in Ireland’s biggest anti-litter initiative and really make a difference.  Getting involved means your group or organisation will be sent a FREE clean up kit, information about spreading the word via social media, and support emails.  This can be a one-off event or several clean up events (within the time period of the campaign).  Please register your interest here.

Dublin City University (DCU), invite PPN member groups to attend the Love of LifeLong Learning Programme, from 09 February onwards.  Each module is crafted to ignite creativity, expand horizons and enrich personal growth.  This semester’s line-ups include Creative Writing, Psychology, Art Appreciation, Painting, Beginners’ Spanish and Opera 1!  You can find out more here.

The Health Service Executive (HSE), invite PPN members to find out more about their Living Well Programme.  Living with a long-term health condition can be challenging.  The Living Well programme is a FREE, 6 week self-management programme for adults with chronic or long term health conditions.  It gives participants the skills and confidence to live well with a long term health condition.  You can find out more about the details and dates here.

Training

New members meetup – an introduction to the PPN on the last Tuesday of the month (27 January, 2026).  This one hour, online, general introduction session is for member groups that have recently joined the PPN.  However, those people who would like a “refresher” about the core work of the PPN, are also more than welcome.

Please email Siobhán at for the zoom link.

Updates from the PPN Representatives and Secretariat

The PPN has a Secretariat of 9 people:  Stephen Doody from Dublin Community Environmental Network (DCEN), spoke on the Smashing Times Arts and Human Rights Radio show, on 07 and 14 January, about his sculptures.  Stephen talks about how his strong community engagement approach to his work, involves diverse groups in workshops, education and discussion.  His artistic practice is informed through environmental activism.  You can listen back to this interview here.

Stephen is also an active member of the PPN Environment Pillar Working Group.  Please get in touch if you would like to join this group.

The best way to learn about the core work of the PPN is to sit into one of the Strategic Policy Committees (SPCs) meetings, which you can do online live or from the archive.

This week, the following SPC meetings took place.

The Finance Strategic Policy Committee SPC took place at 2.30pm on 15 January.  Your PPN Representatives on this committee are:  Susan Whelan from Greenfield Park Residents Association, and Siobhán Guyatt from Ballymun Community Law Centre (Siobhán Guyatt is also a member of the PPN Secretariat).  Watch that committee meeting here.

The Community, Gaelige, Sport, Arts and Culture SPC took place on 19 January.  Your PPN Representatives are:  Brian Greene from DCTV and Sorcha Keene, from Axis Ballymun.  You can watch that committee meeting here.

The PPN Secretariat meet on the second Tuesday of the month.

Please contact the PPN Staff, Ruth and Siobhán if you have any questions, suggestions or thoughts about the network.
