Information

The Land Development Agency (LDA), are launching a public consultation for Phase 2 of Clongriffin Central.  The LDA is presenting designs to the public and seeking feedback in advance of a planning application and you can access all the details on the website here.  A number of drop-in clinics and meetings will be hel din the coming weeks in the Junction Community Space, Station Square, Clongriffin on Monday 02 March, Thursday 05 March and Monday 09 March.

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS), asks all PPN members, to please share the new Donor Eligibility Quiz with the other people in your PPN member group and other networks here.  Donating blood, if eligible takes a short amount of time and effort and can literally save another person’s life.  You can find a clinic, with opening times, in Dublin here.

You are invited to the launch of the 2026 CrowdFund Dublin City Programme at the Mansion House, on Wednesday 04 March, from 5.30pm – 7.00pm Dublin City Council (DCC) partners with SpaceHive to help community groups create, fund and deliver project ideas.  This crowdfunding programme is designed to support initiatives that help make Dublin a great place to live, work and play.  Learn how projects across the city can apply for up to €5000 from the CrowdFund Dublin Fund.  You can register here.

The Wheel invite you to a webinar to celebrate International Women’s Day on 12 March from 10.00am – 11.15am  The UN 2026 International Women’s Day theme is “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.” It calls for action to break down barriers to equal justice. These include discriminatory laws, weak legal protections, and harmful social norms that undermine the rights of women and girls. We’ll hear from panellists about their own experiences with justice, followed by an open discussion with questions from attendees.   You can register for this FREE event here.

Social Justice Ireland (SJI), invites to you become a member of their charity and not-for-profit organisation, that relies on the support of its members and supporters to keep doing the work it does, towards a society where all can live life with dignity.  You can find out more about becoming a member online here.

Biodiversity Ireland invite you to Invasive Species Week, from 22 – 28 June.  The themes for this year are:  volunteering and recording, check/clean/dry, be plant wise and be pet wise.  If your member group would like to plan an event or have Biodiversity Ireland highlight an activity your organisation is already doing on invasive species, please email:  with Invasive Species Week in the subject line.

Bloomin Crumlin are offering PPN member groups free fruit and native trees, fruit bushes and hardy herbs, which are ideal for transforming your garden into a thriving, biodiverse sanctuary.  You are also welcome to drop into their bicycle repair area on the day, and get some cycling advice.  There will be tea and coffee and a chance to network on 21 March, at Pearse College of Further Education, Clogher Road, D12 CR22 and you can sign up for the day here.

Dublin City University (DCU)’s Age Friendly University (AFU) initiative is proud to host the annual Intergenerational Awards, honouring projects that bring together younger and older people through creativity, learning and shared experiences.  If your PPN member group would like to get involved in the awards, or programme in general, you can access further information and detail here.

Creative Brain Week is a heady mix of World Leading Neuroscientists, Educationalists, Health Policy Makers, Artists and Innovators, exploring the brain and creativily.  This year’s theme is “Thinking. Better.  Together” from 02 – 06 March.  You can read more and sign up for the different events here.

The Charities Institute Ireland (CII) Academy invite PPN member groups to sign up for its first newsletter.  In it, you can find updates about webinars, communication and advocacy, how to influence public policy and all about a new Certificate in Fundraising.  You can access the full list of training sessions on the Training Calendar here.  And you can sign up to the new monthly newsletter here.

PPN Member Groups are invited to take part in a student survey, with the National College of Art and Design (NCDA), to research how a small, local trial of a project, might make it easier for children to play outside near home; safely, comfortably, and in ways that feel inclusive for families on the street. You can access this short survey here. And as always, please share with the other people in your PPN Member Group.

Training

Dublin City PPN and Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown PPN are organising general training for PPN member groups, from both PPNs and you can find out more on the Events Section of the PPN website here.  These FREE, online support sessions are available to all PPN members, and the topics being covered in this series are; the Circular Economy, Creating Sustainable Communities, How To Use Your Phone To Make Video Reels and Practical Steps for Funding Applications.

Updates From the Secretariat and Representatives

The main focus of the PPN is to provide information and training to member groups, so that they might participate more, in local authority decision making.  To that end, the PPN has 20 PPN Representatives, on Dublin City Council committees.  One of the best ways to learn about the core work of the PPN, is to sit in on one of the committees, and find out which topics are being discussed:
