Applications are now open for the Music Capital Scheme Award 2024.  The Music Capital Scheme, which is supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, provides funding for the purchase of musical instruments to individual professional musicians and non-professional groups across the country.  Deadline for applications, Tuesday 25 June 2024.  Further information about the awards here.

The Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC), seek the help of PPN member groups with a mapping project to capture the breadth and scale of successful action and engagement already ongoing within communities.  Details of the survey will be published as an interactive map to showcase the work across Ireland.  Please complete the survey here.

The Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL) invites you to a National PPN Online Information Session to present the ICCL report, “That’s not your role”.  Community and Voluntary organisations afraid to criticise the State for fear of financial implications, might find the research presented in the report interesting.  The zoom session is on Tuesday 28 May at 10.30am here.  You can read the full report here.

University College Dublin (UCD) and the Dundalk Institute of Technology are undertaking a research project to investigate lead in domestic drinking water within Dublin.  Do you live in Dublin City?  Are you interested in finding out more about the quality of your water?  Everyone is invited to join this online information session on Friday 17 May, from 1.15pm – 2.00pm Zoom link here

SPC meetings with Dublin City Council

From here you can access webcasts of Dublin City Council meetings or view archived council meetings (including all SPC meetings, where the PPN has representation).  Upcoming and recent meetings are displayed on the left hand side of the page.

The objectives of the PPN are to share information, and to offer training to member groups so that they can get more involved in Dublin City Council decision making.  To this end, we have seats on Strategic Policy Committees (SPCs), Local Community Development Committee (LCDC), and Joint Policing Committees (JPCs).

All seats become vacant after the local elections on 06 June, 2024.

Please get in touch if you would like more information about these seats, roles and opportunities.
