As July begins, here’s a quick look at what we’ve achieved recently and what the quieter summer months will look like.
What we’ve wrapped up
At May’s Secretariat meeting we streamlined several workflows that will make our autumn programme smoother and more inclusive. Thank you to everyone who shared insights and practical tips.
May itself was packed: the Plenary, Summer School, Migrant/Minority events, and Disability Thematic Group workshops all drew strong turnouts. If you missed anything, concise write‑ups are now on our website.
Looking ahead
Staff have already sketched out an autumn training series and the November Plenary. Details are still in progress, but we’re shaping sessions around the support you’ve requested.
New members
June brought a steady flow of fresh groups into the network—welcome! Whether you’re brand‑new or long‑time members, mark your diary for our online New Members Meet‑Up on Tuesday 30 September, from 7.00pm – 8.00pm Email Siobhán () for the Zoom link.
Summer slowdown
July and August are our annual low‑activity months. We’ll monitor email and urgent developments, but general business will move at a gentler pace while staff and volunteers take leave and plan for the second half of the year.
Thank you
Many of you will also be taking a well‑earned break—by the sea, in the garden, or simply enjoying quieter days. We hope it’s restorative. Your commitment to your communities keeps the PPN vibrant; thank you for showing up and sharing your voices.
You’ll hear from us again in early September with full details of autumn events, training, and representative updates. Until then, if something pressing arises, drop us a line and we’ll respond as promptly as possible.
Representative & Secretariat notes
Dr Badmus Akeem has moved to PPN Member group: Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Europe (NIDOE) Ireland Chapter and will continue representing the PPN on the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC), from the Community and Voluntary Pillar.
The next Secretariat meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 09 September.
Wishing you a restful, happy summer.
Warm regards,
Ruth and Siobhán
