The following areas fall under the responsibility of the Planning and Urban Regeneration Strategic Policy Committee:
Archaeology, Building Control, Conservation, Development Management, Heritage, Forward Planning, Planning Services, Property Management, Regional Planning Guidelines, Strategic Projects and Urban Renewal

There are a minimum of five meetings per year, generally held every two months on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 3.30pm. Generally there are no meetings in July are August.
PPN Representation:
The PPN has two seats on this committee, one for the Environmental Pillar and one for either the Social Inclusion or Community Pillar.
Role of the PPN Representative:
- Attends and participates at the committee they were elected to.
- Represents the views and concerns of members to the relevant policy committee
- Represents all the members of the PPN and not just their own group
- Feeds back to the PPN membership through reports, presentations and meetings (linkage meetings)
