The Department of Rural and Community Development (DRCD), would like to share the Irish version of their 2023 Annual Report with PPN member groups here. DRCD would also like to bring your attention to the Irish language version of the website here.
John Connell from NearFM radio, interviewed PPN staff member, Ruth Powell on Wednesday 12 February and you can listen back to the interview here. There will be a podcast of the interview on NearFM’s website very soon, and you can use this as part of the training for new members of the PPN. John is looking for other people to interview and if you would like to go on radio to talk about your member group and the PPN, please contact Ruth and we can organise a PPN series of interviews, together with NearFM.
Africa Day is back! Dublin City Council (DCC) are once again hosting an event for Africa Day on Sunday 18 May and are asking PPN member groups to register if you are interested in hosting a stand. The PPN Migrant/Minority Thematic Group has registered its interest and will be promoting the PPN through Africa Day in 2025. Please go this link here if you would like to participate as a member group, separate to the Migrant/Minority Thematic Group.
The Local Government Management Agency (LGMA), would like to invite PPN member groups to get involved in Ireland Reads day, on 22 February. Ireland Reads is a campaign to encourage reading and this year the campaign is focused on “Get Lost in a Good Book”. You can access the social media promotional assts with key messages here.
Dublin City University’s (DCU’s) Irish Refugee Integration Network (IRIN) is a collective of DCU academics, students, and members of civil society. DCU was the first University of Sanctuary in Ireland, having received the designation in 2016. As such, it is committed to welcoming forcibly displaced persons and supporting them in accessing third level education through awarding of scholarships. It also organised a range of initiatives to foster integration, including Refugee Week, the Meillie storytelling project and research in the field of forced migration. DCU IRIN are now offering FREE English classes for international protection applicants and refugees, and you can find out more about the programme here.

Access Europe is a support and capacity-building programme for Irish civil society organisations to better access EU funds and engage in EU policy. It is funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and delivered by The Wheel. You can read more about it here.
Save the date: the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC) invite you to save the date of Wednesday 11 June. The first Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) National Stakeholder Forum of 2025 will take place in the Cusack Suite of Croke Park in Dublin. Theme and details to follow.

The University of Galway is happy to announce its 16th International Disability Law Summer School: disabled activism in an age of far-right resurgence from 16 – 18 June 2025. Registration and a call for abstracts are open and you can apply for the early bird package and more here.
Connections Arts Centre invite you to the official launch of their impact report for the Creative TY Connections programme, on Wednesday 05 March from 9.30am – 11.00am at the Royal Hibernian Academy. Minister for Disability, Hildegarde Naughton, will be attending and officially launching the report, and the event will be hosted by Bernard Jackman. You can register for the event here.

How to shine on LinkedIn, with ease: 5 essential tips for confidence and impact with Elaine Walsh-McGrath on Monday 03 March, from 2.30pm – 3.30pm in the Central Library. This excellent session is FREE, but you must sign up and register here. Further details about the session are here.

The Economic Development and Enterprise Strategic Policy Committee (SPC), met on Tuesday 18 February and you can access the full meeting online here.
