PPN Information

The PPN Disability Thematic Group (DTG) hosted a workshop on 20 May, to explore disability rights and Disabled Person’s Organisations (DPOs) at the Finglas Youth Resource Centre.  You can read a full update of this workshop here.  The workshop ties in with this years, Inclusion and Integration Week, 2025, which the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Emma Blain, will launch on Thursday 22 May, from 9.30am – 10.30am, in the Atrium of Wood Quay Civic Offices.  Please register here if you would like to attend the launch.

The PPN Migrant/Minority Thematic Group (MTG), hosted a stall at this year’s Africa Day at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham on Sunday 18 May, and you can read a full update of this event here.

The PPN Plenary is taking place on Thursday 22 May, from 6.30pm – 8.30pm at the Mansion House and is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the PPN, network with PPN member groups, and meet the PPN Representatives and Secretariat.  There will be refreshments and music and all are welcome.  Register here.

The PPN/DCU Summer School is taking place from Monday 26 May to Thursday 29 May.  This year, the PPNs of Dublin City, Fingal and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown partner with DCU to bring a series of in-person and online training sessions on social media, AI, Disinformation and public policy.  Further details and registration details here.

New Members Meet-Up:  an introduction to the PPN on the last Tuesday of the month  This one hour, online, general introduction session is for member groups that have recently joined the PPN.  The next new members meet-up is on Tuesday 27 May.  Please email Siobhán on for the zoom link.

Dublin City PPN host, Dublin City Volunteer Centre (DCVC) have two job vacancies in their main office.  You can read the full job specification, with information about how to apply for the role of Deputy Manager here.  You can read more about the role, and responsibilities for the Garda Vetting and Office Coordinator, here.  DCVC won the tender to host the PPN in late 2020, and has been active in managing, advising and inspiring the network since.

Dublin City PPN were also present at the launch of “Why Wouldn’t You?” which is an inspiring short film, created by the DCU Irish Refugee Integration Network (IRIN), and Sanctuary.  The film shares powerful stories from community members, activists, and educators working together to support forcibly displaced individuals.  A solidarity toolkit, to create more just and inclusive communities was also launched.  This is a terrific resource for educators, community organisations and activists and you can download it here.

Updates from the PPN Representatives and the PPN Secretariat

The Secretariat of the PPN met for their monthly meeting on Tuesday 13 May, and agreed the minutes from the April meeting, which you can access here.  The PPN 2025 Workplan Q1 report can be accessed here.  The PPN Secretariat is made up of nine nominated and elected people, who are also involved in pillar working groups and/or thematic groups and occasionally sit on Strategic Policy Committees (SPCs) and the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC).  You can see the full list of 9 here.  You can access a full list of the PPN representatives, their member groups, and their pillar here:

The European Movement (EM), is organising a series of thematic forums to facilitate engagement between Irish MEPs and CSO representatives, and this forum will focus on employment, social inclusion and living and working conditions.  This is online on Tuesday 27 May from 10.00am – 11.00am and you can sign up here.
