Happy Christmas Holiday to our PPN members

We would like to use this final Bulletin of 2025, as a note of thanks.

Thank you to the 20 PPN Representatives, who give their time, energy and lived experience to the work of the PPN, so generously.  They sit on Dublin City Council committees, and their commitment to attending meetings, reading materials, asking difficult questions and bringing community voices into decision-making spaces is the very core work of the PPN.  It is careful, nuanced work and it matters deeply.

Thank you to the Secretariat whose steady leadership, thoughtful governance and collective wisdom continue to guide the network.  Their willingness to grapple complex issues, to support one another, and to keep the values of participation strengthens the network. Thank you to our host, Dublin City Volunteer Centre, who support the network constantly.

Thank you to the consultant facilitators who offered training and support throughout 2025 and thank you to the member groups who attended those training, support sessions and Plenaries.  Thank you to those who quietly and faithfully read the Bulletins: participation takes many forms and all of them count.  Thank you to those who follow our work on Facebook and LinkedIn, and thank you to those who share our updates.

This year, one of our strongest achievements has been the growth and consolidation of our five internal groups. These groups are no longer just structures on paper; they are becoming communities in their own right, finding their own foundations, developing shared language and purpose, and shaping priorities that reflect the lived realities of people across the city. This kind of grounded, collective work is slow, but it is powerful.  Thank you to Ellenora Lynch, who offered support to our newly forming and norming internal working groups.  Thank you to the participants of the Disability Thematic Group and Migrant Thematic Group, who continued to work tirelessly in 2025, to ensure the topics of their groups, are included in the network.

Looking ahead to 2026, we are excited.

Our Plenaries will take place on the third Thursday of May and November, and we hope these gatherings will continue to be spaces for connection, learning and shared direction. We are also planning joined training with Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown PPN, and a Summer School in partnership with DCU, Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, Fingal and South Dublin County PPNs. These collaborations reflect our belief that we are stronger when we learn together.

At its core, the work of the PPN is about people. It is about listening carefully, advocating respectfully, and working collectively to improve quality of life for those who work, study, visit and live in Dublin City. That goal remains our compass.

Thank you for everything you have contributed this year. We look forward to continuing the work together in the year ahead, with care and a shared commitment to participation.

Wishing you a restful end to the year and a hopeful start to the next.

From the PPN staff, Ruth and Siobhán.
