PPN Updates

What a busy week for Dublin City PPN!

Arts, Culture, Leisure and Recreation SPC reps, Adekunle Gomez and Ciarán Taylor met Ruth for a picnic in the park last Friday, to talk about the Arts Linkage Group.  The Arts linkage group will be looking at how art fits into the Dublin City Development Plan, and will be thinking about submissions to this process shortly.

The Disability Thematic Group met for its monthly meeting on Monday night, and Antonia Martin of Dublin City Council came to make a presentation to the group and to answer questions.

The PPN Secretariat met Wednesday night for its monthly meeting, and one topic for discussion was how to best achieve the objectives set out in the 2021 Work Plan.  All nine members of the Secretariat now all have additional roles and responsibilities, in addition to their Secretariat duty, and the second part of 2021 should be exciting!

Next Monday, the Planning and Urban Form SPC Linkage group will meet on Google Meet, at 7.00pm  Please get in touch if you would like to attend this meeting.  The two SPC representatives are Robbie Sinnott and Anna Devlin.

Meanwhile, we were amazed by the response to the offer of FREE places on the Big, Better, Bolder fundraising programme.  The PPN agreed to cover the costs for four people to attend the programme, but due to such high interest, agreed to cover the costs for 8 people.

The 8 people were chosen randomly and have been informed.

Fundraising is clearly an area of high interest from our member groups, and as such we will look into further fundraising training opportunities in our autumn series of training sessions.  Watch this space!

In addition, PPN stakeholders are invited to a webinar specifically for PPNs on the recently launched “Our Rural Future – Rural Development Policy 2021 – 2025”.  The webinar will be attended by Minister of State, Joe O’Brien TD.  There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the presentation and you can access the webinar here.
