PPN Bulletin

This week we say goodbye to another Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) representative, namely, Paula Galvin.  We would like to thank Paula for all her hard work and commitment, and we wish her all the best.  This leaves Paula’s seat vacant, and if you would like to know more about this vacancy please go here. This means there are currently two vacant seats on the LCDC, one for the Voluntary and Community Pillar and one for the Environmental Pillar.  We are keeping both nominations open until Friday 05 November 2021 and please get in touch if you would like further information about the role, responsibilities, and time commitment, before you make a nomination.  The PPN Handbook (2020), is also a very good resource for information about the responsibilities of the Representatives.

Please save the date for the next Plenary on Thursday 25 November.

For all Dublin City PPN Events, please check the Events Section of our website here.

Many thanks to Dympna Keeny, the General Manager of Victim Support at Court, who spoke to John Healy on NearFM’s Northside Today programme on Wednesday.  Dympna spoke about the services they offer, her gratefulness to the volunteers involved in the programme, and about some of the challenges of this work.  Next Wednesday, tune in to listen to Ruth Powell update John on the progress of the PPN since January this year, and please get in touch if you would like to go on this radio programme to showcase your organisation’s work.

Philip and Zhayan from the Kurdish Irish Society would like to ask for help.  They are delivering a series of talks this winter and are looking for guests to speak about the following topics:  Irish history/culture/food, DIY, finding work, ESOL, activities specifically for women, and IT Skills.  If you would like to collaborate with Philip and Zhayan, please get in touch with us, and we will forward your details on.

If you would like to get involved in Dublin City Council’s Integration and Inclusion week, from 8 – 12 November, please share the details of your event with the council here.  If you would like further information about the Integration and Inclusion week, please email:  The PPN will be holding an event during Integration and Inclusion Week to introduce our Migrant Thematic Group, if you would like to get involved in that, please contact Beatriz.

Ernie Beggs, from the Secretariat, would like to inform the PPN that he is accompanying Paul Woodward on the PPN promotional film project.
