We would like to welcome Gavin Woods onto the Secretariat of Dublin City PPN. Gavin is the Administrator (CEO) of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral Dublin and leads the lay team there. He has worked in the community and voluntary sector for over 20 years and is currently responsible to the Cathedral Board for all financial and organisational matters. Gavin established the Cathedral’s education and community departments and holds postgraduate qualifications in leadership and management, and volunteers as a trustee of three non-profit organisations.
The remaining vacant seat on the Housing SPC will go to an online election next week.
Many thanks to all those who engaged in the recent structural review of the PPNs initiated by the Department of Rural and Community Development and facilitated by Mazars. This year’s Culture Night will take place on the 17 September. If groups would like to come together to organise a PPN event for this, please email Ruth with any ideas or suggestions.

Our colleagues at Serve the City would like to introduce their Cairdeas Programme to the PPN and ask for help scheduling cultural experiences, “volutours” and other experiences into Irish culture and way of life. Cairdeas is a training, coaching and mentoring programme focused on empowering, education and upskilling international protection applicants and members of migrant communities. The programme is looking for organisations to help offer ways that people can improve essential life skills and learn about the cultural diversity of living in Ireland. The Carmichael Good Governance Awards for Non-Profit Organisations are open for entries until 14 September 2021. The Good Governance Awards recognises and encourages adherence to good governance by non-profit organisations in Ireland. The awards were developed by Carmichael with the support of partners and leading national bodies in the non-profit sector, and you can find out more information here.
