Threshold ask you to send a submission to the Housing Commission, to ask for a referendum to include the “Right to Housing” in the Constitution. Threshold have created a message: all you have to do is sign your name and click “submit”. You can do it in less than two minutes, here.
Dublin City Council invite you to a photo opportunity on 11 September, to create an “Efficiency of Space” image. The idea of this photo is to show how much more space cars take up on the road, compared with sustainable modes of transport. 80 volunteers are needed for this photo, and you are welcome to sign up here
DCC also currently have an open public consultation on the Local Property Tax (LPT), until 08 September. This is to gage public opinion on the adjustment of the base rate of LPT for 2023. FAQs, 2022 Budget, and an online survey here.

Community Gardens Ireland want to double the numbers of allotments and community gardens in Ireland by 2025. They would like local authorities to provide community growing spaces, and to this end, they have started a campaign to achieve these goals. Community Law and Mediation invite you to a webinar, on 7 September from 9.30am – 10.30am, to prepare for the Climate Action Plan 2023 public consultation. This webinar is aimed at citizens, grassroots groups, and organisations and you can find out more and register for the webinar here.
Friends of the Earth have asked Dublin City PPN to sign an open letter, asking the government of Ireland to tackle both energy poverty and pollution, in response to the worsening energy crisis. Pobal, on behalf of the Department of Rural and Community Development, is carrying out an assessment of training that may be required by those who manage volunteers. If you manage volunteers, you are invited to complete the survey here.
The Liberties Festival 2022 is taking place from 01 – 04 September and has a series of family friendly, sporting and community events, and an exciting, multi-cultural and arts programme. You can find out all about the festival here.
Autumn Training Courses
If you would like to register for the Social Justice Ireland online-only training on the structure, form and functions of the PPNs in Ireland you can sign up to the training here. This online, self-managed training is of benefit to anyone involved in the PPN, who wants to know about its history, purpose, and role and who wants to learn more about the PPNs true potential.

Anam Cara invite you to an event called “Supporting a bereaved colleague on their return to work”. The session takes place on Friday 23 September, from 10.30am – 12.30pm with Dorothy Ingram, who is a pluralistic counsellor. Her specialist area is bereavement.
