PPN Bulletin

Information

The Department of Rural and Community Development (DRCD), would like to share some resources and online support webinars with member groups of the PPNs across the country.  You can access a series of supports here which includes a snapshot of the year 2022, training sessions, and a press release from Minister Joe O’Brien urging community groups to join Public Participation Networks (PPNs).

Dublin City PPN currently has three vacancies on its Secretariat and is looking for nominations.  Deadline for official nominations is Wednesday 22 November and the full process of how to nominate is here.

Clann Credo – Community Loan Finance

The social finance offered by Clann Credo is designed for community groups and comprises term loans and bridging loans.  You may need a bridging loan to enable you to avail of grant aid offered by a public body and/or you may require a term loan to deliver your project or service where grant aid is not available or does not meet the full cost of the project.  Community groups up and down the country have secured social finance from Clann Credo.  But Clann Credo is much more than a source of finance – they understand the stops and starts of managing community projects.  It is their understanding of community development and volunteerism that positions them as a trusted community finance partner for over 600 community borrowers.  Go here for further details.

Training

Consultant Facilitator Stephen Rourke, has been in touch with groups about the Environmental Pillar Linkage Group, the Planning and Urban Form Linkage Group and the Housing Linkage group meetings planned for November.  Please reply to Stephen directly if you would like to come along to one (or more) of those meetings.
