Information
Dublin City Council have announced that this year’s Inclusion and Integration Week will take place from 6 – 12 November 2023. If your group would like to host an event during this week, the events submission form will be available on the website here from Monday 02 October. The hashtag for the week will be #dublincityinclusion23 and you can either attend events throughout the week or host your own!
Hopefully, two of the PPN’s thematic groups will be organising something special, more information as it comes…
Ireland’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Week is taking place this year, from 23 September – 01 October. SDG week forms part of the wider European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW), which will run this year until 08 October. As with the Integration and Inclusion Week above, you are welcome to attend events, or host your own activity and register it as an official event!
More information on the ESDW website here.
Cois Ceim invite you to a performance of a piece of contemporary dance, called “Bench” on Culture Night (22 September), at Spencer Dock. Cois Ceim also invite you dance classes for people aged 50 + , every Wednesday at the Carmelite Community Centre, on Aungier Street. Classes five euro each, and further details here.
Please share this information with other people in your groups and networks.
Training
We have a very ambitious autumn training programme online, and in person, covering much of the content that we have heard member groups ask for. Please come to one or more of our events and training sessions this autumn or ask someone in your group and network to attend, if you can’t make it.
Please share the Events Section of our website with your groups and networks so that our training sessions and events are as full as possible.
We have three Environmental Days for our environmental college member groups this autumn.
We have two days of “How to 2” training, which is specific, bespoke training for PPN Representatives and Secretariat.
We also invite all member groups to attend our autumn series of online support sessions on PowerPoint and WordPress, delivered by Carmichael. This online training is in partnership with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown PPN, and further details about these lunch time courses are here.
The details for the DLR PPN online sessions with Carmichael are here and these sessions are FREE for Dublin City PPN members too.
Registration for this year’s Festival of Fundraising will be open later today, and you can find out more about the online, in person, daytime and evening workshops here.
And finally, our November Plenary will take place on the last Thursday in November, on 30 November, and further details will be updated here. We have enjoyed our Member Groups hosting our plenaries for the past three plenaries. If your member group would like to host the November Plenary, and has room for approximately 50 people, please email Ruth on
Updates from the Representatives and Secretariat
The best way to learn all about the PPN is to attend one or more of the Strategic Policy Committee (SPC) meetings online live, or from the archives.
The SPC meetings taking place this week are economic development, housing, traffic and transport, finance, and the arts. Member groups are likely only interested in one topic, so we advise you to attend the meeting which most fits with your member group objectives, and reflect on the work being done. Afterwards, you can join one of the linkage groups, or find out more from the Representatives attending the meeting.
This is the heart of the work of the PPNs, and the SPC meetings can be watched here.
