The Department of Rural and Community Development (DRCD) would like to let you know that the 2022 PPN Annual Report is on the website here. Please read and share with the other people in your groups and networks.
Dublin City Council announce the launch of their Community Climate Action Fund: Groups/org involved in Climate Action, on a not for profit basis at community level. This can include Sports Clubs, Community Groups, Community Enterprise Centres, Climate Action Groups, Residents’ Associations/Youth Clubs.
The PPN Host, Dublin City Volunteer Centre, invite you to promote your volunteering opportunities with them. Simply fill out the form here and your details will be promoted through I-VOL. If you are new to the centre or would like to learn more about I-VOL and promoting your organisation, get in touch with DCVC here. DCVC’s Volunteering Events offer you the chance to chat to people looking to volunteer, answer their questions and let them know about the benefits of volunteering with you.
TOG Hackerspace invite you to their 15th birthday party HERE at 7.00pm on 27 January, at their place in Motor City, behind Mr Price, on Kylemore Road. This is an open social night, with cake, pizza from the oven, and a chance to learn more about some of the projects born within the community.

Updates from Planning and Urban Form SPC/Proposed variations to the Dublin City Development Plan:
Proposed Variation No. 5 – To make a technical update to the 2022 – 2028 Dublin City Development Plan in relation to ‘Build-To-Rent’ (BTR) accommodation following the publication of the guidelines ‘Sustainable Urban Housing: Design Standards for New Apartments – Guidelines for Planning Authorities, DHLGH, 2023, with transitional arrangements.
It is proposed to vary the Dublin City Development Plan 2022 – 2028, by making the following amendments: Part A: A technical update in relation to ‘Build-To-Rent’ (BTR) accommodation on foot of the publication of Sustainable Urban Housing: Design Standards for New Apartments – Guidelines for Planning Authorities, DHLGH, 2023.
Part B: Insert new Appendix 19 into Volume 2: Appendices of the Dublin City Development Plan 2022 – 2028 containing transitional arrangements for Build-To-Rent accommodation proposals that are subject to consideration within the planning system on or before 21st December 2022.
Reason: The purpose of the proposed variation is to make a technical update in relation to ‘Build-To-Rent’ (BTR) accommodation having regard to and ensuring compliance with Section 28 Guidelines as set out in DHLGH document ‘Sustainable Urban Housing: Design Standards for New Apartments – Guidelines for Planning Authorities 2023 including transitional arrangements.
A copy of the Proposed Variation, together with the Strategic Environmental Assessment and Appropriate Assessment Screening Reports may be inspected for a period from Friday 5th January 2024 to Thursday 01st February 2024 inclusive at the following locations:

In 2024, all Strategic Policy Committees (SPCs) will be dissolved and re-convened, which means that all seats will be vacant again.
