Come along to the PPN Information Night, online on Thursday 09 May 2024, from 7.00pm – 8.00pm This session will be of interest to new members of the PPN, and to people who would like to know more about the vacant committee representative seats, after the elections in June 2024. Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys launched a major national awareness campaign aimed at Dog Owners this week. The awareness campaign is to highlight the responsibility of dog owners, to address the issue of attacks on humans and livestock, and to improve dog control and welfare. The name of the campaign is “It’s not your dog’s fault, it’s yours” and please share the campaign with your groups and networks. Further information here.

Crumlin CleanUp and Bloomin Crumlin invite you to a weekly litter picking in Crumlin on Saturday 27 April. Meet in the middle of Bangor Circle from 11.00am, and later in Clonmacnoise Grove (for a cup of tea) between 12.30pm and 1.30pm
The IFI invite expressions of interest for a programme, which provides participants with all they need to know to plan and promote their own screening event. It combines online learning through the “Curate-It” app, alongside in person meetings with the cohort and programme leaders. The Wheel invite members to an event entitled, “The Future is community: local, EU, and General Election campaigning”. The next 12 months will provide the community, social inclusion and environmental sector with significant opportunities to influence politicians on the local, national and European stage. This workshop with be delivered by Johnny Sheehan, Member Engagement Manager at The Wheel. Johnny is currently co-chair of Coalition 2030, the civil society coalition working to ensure Ireland honours its commitments to achieving the SDGs.
Strategic Planning
There are still some spaces on the Strategic Planning Workshop being held on Wednesday 24 April from 10am – 12pm Luna Atkins from 2Into3 will deliver this workshop that will focus on how to develop a strategic plan, the process itself. Please register here to attend Strategic Planning.
Social Justice Ireland have an online, self-guided course on the Public Participation Networks. This online support covers the following topics: an introduction to PPNs, effective facilitation, effective participation in consultancies, local government budgets, measuring outcomes and impacts, PPNs and local government and strategic planning.
