The Dublin City Council Community Grant Scheme is open until 16 August 2024.  Further information about the grants and criteria for applying is here.

You will need a PPN number to apply for this community grant scheme, and you can find your PPN number on the PPN Members Directory here.

(Please note, that new PPN applications will not be ratified until the next Secretariat meeting, to be held on Tuesday 10 September).

Dublin City Council want your views, ideas and suggestions on their draft Digital Transformation Strategy, so that they can make sure they meet the needs of Dublin City and its citizens.  You can read the draft and complete a survey on the draft here.

The PPN Host, Dublin City Volunteer Centre, have developed a new resource to help people applying for international protection, to find a suitable volunteer role, in Dublin City.  You can go to this resource here.

The Department of Justice, invite expressions of interest for Chairpersons of the new Local Community Safety Partnerships (LCSPs).  The LCSPs will bring together a range of service providers and the community to examine/deliver on actions that will improve community safety.  You are welcome to find out more here.

Dublin Community Television (DCTV) are holding a seminar on Friday 12 July.  Topics being covered are:  scheduling and programming, mobile journalism, TV production budgeting, The Rise of the Far Right in Media Coverage – FREE – email to reserve your place.

Le Chéile are recruiting new Volunteer Mentors.  All volunteers are trained and well-supported to mentor young people involved in the justice system and their parents.  You can find out more about this volunteer-led mentoring programme here.

Our friends at Exam Craft Group are compiling stories from people seeking refuge in Ireland and would like to hear from anyone who would like to share their tales.  The aim is to humanise refugees, highlight human-rights issues and encourage readers to empathise with and support refugees, in their communities.  If you would like to get involved in this project, email Philip –

PPN for Beginners:  orientation for our newly elected Representatives to take place during September and October.  These sessions will be semi-formal and will include refreshments, team building activities and time for reflection and planning.  Further details to come.

Updates from PPN Representatives and Secretariat

Dublin City Council will soon request PPN representation on several DCC committees. 

The committees will focus on areas such as housing/climate/culture/planning/finance/economic development and transport, and the PPN will then ask for nominations from the Member Groups. 

If you are interested in committee work, and have experience of a representative role, perhaps this voluntary role is for you.  Please email Ruth on if you would like to find out more about the responsibilities and time commitments.
