PPN Bulletin

General Information

Dublin City Council (DCC) are pleased to offer access to the February – March 2025 Funding Point Local Access Digest for all PPN members here.

PPN Member Group, Connections Arts Centre, were recently the subject of an excellent article in The Irish Times, called, “They’re walking taller:  disabled adults learning tech skills from Transition Year Students.  An innovative transition programme is empowering disabled adults and boosting students’ leadership skills”.  You can read the article here.

PPN Member Group, The Rediscovery Centre invite PPN members to their annual Seed Swap event.  Connect with fellow seed enthusiasts, no matter your gardening experience or space.  Whether you have a flowerpot, a balcony, a garden of any size or simply an interest in seeds:  this event is for you.  You can access the Eventbrite to register for this FREE event here.

The Intercultural Women’s Network invite you to the Mansion House on Tuesday 01 April, from 6.30pm – 9.30pm to celebrate 10 years of the International Intercultural Women’s Network and to celebrate Eid.  There will be female guest speakers, food, and music.

PPN Training (and support)

The PPN Environment Pillar Working Group are holding their first meeting at Wynn’s Hotel on Tuesday 01 April from 7.30pm – 9.30pm

The aim of the meeting is to bring together the PPN Environment Pillar newly elected and re-elected Representatives, with any PPN Member Groups, that are part of the PPN Environment Pillar.

Please email Ruth if you are intending to go to the event, so that we can order refreshments (vegetarian sandwiches/wraps/soups with tea and coffee).

Updates from the PPN Representatives and Secretariat

Nominations are still open for the role of PPN Representative, from a Community and Voluntary Pillar member group for the Finance Strategic Policy Committee (SPC).  Further details of the nominations process here.

The Housing and Social Inclusion Strategic Policy Committee (SPC), met on Monday 24 March at 9.30am  You can access the meeting on Dublin City’s public-i-tv portal here

There are three PPN Representatives on this committee: 

Mike Allen, from PPN member group, Focus Ireland, which is in the Community and Voluntary Pillar.

Oisín O’Reilly, from PPN member group, Outhouse LGBTQ Centre, which is in the Social Inclusion Pillar

Sinéad Murphy, from PPN member group, Meeting Place Club, which is also from the Social Inclusion Pillar.

The Climate Action and Urban Resilience Strategic Policy Committee (SPC), meeting took place on Tuesday 25 March at 11.30am  You can access the meeting, agenda and links to presentations here.

There are two PPN representatives on this committee:

Áine Wellard from PPN member group, Terenure Community Support, and Integration, which is from the Environment Pillar.

Ann Canning, from Donore Project Consultative Forum, which is in the Community and Voluntary Pillar.
