PPN member group, CoisCeim invite you to movement workshops, in response to works in IMMAs new exhibition “Technologies of Peace” Booking is FREE and no previous experience of art or movement is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to look, move and explore together. Workshops take place in October and November and you can book online here.
An Taisce invite PPN member groups to get involved in the 10th Festival of Climate Action from 12 – 18 October. You can add an event to the Climate Action Week Event Guide and attend events already taking place in your local area. You are also encouraged to share your event on social media channels, and you can download a social media toolkit, to get you going.

Training Opportunities
The City of Dublin FET College Finglas and Cabra are now enrolling for a range of FREE, part-time adult education courses. Classes are provided for people returning to adult education/upskilling for work, and/or improving English language skills, developing artistic talents, improving mental and physical health and building sustainability skills.

Updates from the PPN Secretariat and Representatives
The PPN is a collective of almost a thousand voluntary groups and organisations active in the Dublin City area. The main objectives of the PPN are to offer information and capacity building training to the groups, so that they can participate more in Dublin City Council decision making.
To this end, the PPN has 15 “Representatives” on 7 different Strategic Policy Committees (SPCs) covering such areas as housing, traffic, planning, climate, culture, economic development and finance. There are a further 5 “Representatives” sitting on the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) and these Reps are nominated and elected from within one of three pillars of the PPN; community and voluntary, social inclusion, or environment. They have been invited into committees to assist and advise council on matters of policy.
The PPN has a 9-person Secretariat who steer and guide the collective to implement the workplans and 5-year strategic plans, and there are two members of staff, who assist the Secretariat.
This week we would like to share an update from PPN Representative, Mike Allen, from Focus Ireland (which is in the Community and Voluntary pillar). Mike sits on the Housing and Social Inclusion Strategic Policy Committee (SPC) and you can access his update here.
