General Information
Volunteer Ireland invite you to complete the Irish Volunteering Index and make comments about volunteering and social engagement in Ireland. Help build the national picture of volunteering in Ireland, by completing the survey and sharing the survey with other people in your groups and organisations. You can complete the survey here.
The National Disability Authority (NDA) invite you to the NDA Annual Conference on 15 October at the Aviva Stadium and online. The registration details are here.
UCD and The Irish Prostate Cancer Outcomes Research invite partners of people diagnosed with prostate cancer in Ireland or Northern Ireland, to complete a survey, so that the partners’ needs and experiences are discussed and measured. You can access the survey here.
The Attune Project is looking for respondents to complete its survey to inform home support services in Ireland, for older adults. Please complete the survey here and/or pass it onto the other people in your groups and networks.
Woodlands of Ireland are pleased to announce an event to celebrate 25 years of the Native Woodland Schemes. Homegrown.ie is looking for landowners and organisations in Dublin City with a suitable piece of spare land, that could become a growing plot for someone nearby. Suitable spaces might include a walled garden, old polytunnel, field edge or unused organisational ground with reasonable sunlight and safe access. More information about the exchange here.
Heritage Keepers is a free heritage education programme for primary schools and community groups across Ireland, that empowers participants to delve into their built, cultural and natural heritage and provides funding to allow them to take positive local action. EirGrid is offering support and funding to community groups working in North Wall, Poolbeg, Finglas, Inchicore, and Carrickmines. Updates from the PPN Secretariat and Representatives
PPN Representatives Mike Allen, Oisin O’Reilly and Sinead Murphy attended the Housing and Social Inclusion Strategic Policy Committee (SPC) on Monday 14 September, and were involved in a very lively dialogue about Cllr Conor Reddy’s motion to reverse the council rent increases, which were introduced in April. The motion passed, after a very interesting discussion, which you can access here.
