General Information

Dublin City Council (DCC) are delighted to announce the return of Inclusion and Integration Week, which this year will take place from Monday 11 November – Sunday 17 November 2024, to promote and celebrate, “Dublin, a city for all”.  If you would like to see photos and videos from Inclusion and Integration Week 2023, you can do so here.  Last year, the PPN’s Migrant Thematic Group hosted three events to celebrate the week and will be marking the week again this year.  Watch this space for updates.  If your member group would like to host an event to celebrate the week, watch this space for updates about how to get involved.

Dublin City Council (DCC) is excited to announce the launch of the Dublin City Night-time Economy Strategy, an ambitious vision to create a dynamic, inclusive and vibrant nightlife that aims to position Dublin as the leading night-time destination in Europe:  More here.

Minister Browne launches 2024 awareness campaign to target misuse of illegal fireworks:  Minister of State at the Department of Justice James Browne TD, launched a nationwide awareness raising campaign to warn against the serious danger posed by illegal fireworks and the strict penalties for their misuse.  PPN member groups are asked to share this information on their websites and social media channels:  https://www.gov.ie/en/press-release/904bc-minister-browne-launches-2024-awareness-campaign-to-target-misuse-of-illegal-fireworks/

Fingal Age Friendly Alliance invite Dublin City PPN member groups to “unlock your power as a voter” and attend an online workshop to improve skills in advocating for your needs, engaging with politicians and influencing decision-making processes.  You can sign up for this workshop here:

The Irish Hospice Foundation and North Dublin Bereavement Network invite Dublin City PPN member groups to:  Living with Loss:  A Bereavement Information Evening for the Public on 24 October, at the Crowne Plaza Dublin, Blanchardstown from 7.00pm – 9.00pm  Further details here.

PPN Autumn Series of Training:

Reset Recharge:  Managing and preventing burnout, through learning how to nourish the body and mind.  With Martin Saunders and Eveanna O’Meara on Friday 18 October, from 10.00am – 1.00pm in Carmichael, refreshments provided.  Email Ruth if you would like to secure a FREE place on this lovely, nourishing wellness training.

PPN Plenary on Thursday 21 November, from 6.30pm – 8.30pm (venue to be confirmed).  Further details to come, but please do save the date.

The Irish Environmental Network’s (IEN) newsletter can be accessed here.  Of interest to the PPNs this month, is the upcoming introductory webinar for Strategic Policy Committees (SPCs), looking at what they are, and how you can get involved.  This will be of interest to all Environmental Representatives around the country, so a great opportunity to network and find out how other PPNs do it!
