PPN Bulletin

What a week!

Many thanks to all those who came to the Festival of Fundraising.

Thank you to Kevin Delaney of Academy Street Workshop who delivered 18 one-to-one mentoring sessions and workshops to PPN member organisations throughout the week.  A special thank you to the people who volunteered to speak at the panel discussion:  Frances Hayden from Dublin City Volunteer Centre, Róisín Lonergan from Five Lamps Arts Festival, Maria Jackson from Northside Home Care and Katerina Stoyanova from CVS Bulgaria.  An even bigger thank you to those who came to the sessions and participated in all the discussions; the week wouldn’t have worked without you.

Your Environmental SPC representative, Robert Moss, would like PPN member organisations to know that there are still places left on TU Dublin’s Social Enterprise module, which starts in October.  Everyone is also invited to a workshop:  Fostering Social Entrepreneurship Ecosystems which is organised by Malta Enterprise as part of the EU Project:  Fostering Social Entrepreneurship Ecosystems post-Covid 19.

Robert Moss represents An Taisce and is one of two Environmental SPC reps for Dublin City PPN.  There are currently 29 member organisations in the Environmental Pillar  and three members of the current Secretariat also come from this pillar, or college (or section of the network).  The Environmental Linkage Group has been using Salesforce Chatter to communicate, over the past few months, but this has not been very successful, so we are hoping to think of other ways to share information soon.  Watch this space.

The Disability Thematic Group would like to share the news that today is #makewayday and you can follow the information and news about the day here.

Dublin City Council would like to share information about its City Edge project.  Unique in Ireland, the City Edge project is a transformative initiative, re-imagining the Naas Road, Ballymount and Park West areas in Dublin.  You can make submissions and attend events:  if you would like to attend a public forum on 22nd or 30th September or attend an international conference on 29th or 30th September you can register here.

Dublin City Volunteer Centre would like to tell you about their Volunteer Leadership Training Programme which starts on 28 September.  The course runs over five Tuesday mornings, from 10 – 12.00pm and would be perfect for anyone wishing to improve their volunteer management skills and exploring best practice in volunteer management.  All this for just 75 euro and you can register online here.

This week’s Northside Today interview on NearFM was with the President of the Hellenic Community of Ireland, Stella Xenopoulou, who will be joining our not-yet-formed migrant thematic group.  If you are also interested in interculturality, and ethnic diversity please email Beatriz for more information about this not-yet-formed group.

Meeting Place Club have a FREE yoga session on Wednesday from 11 – 1.00pm which you can find here.  Many thanks to Sandra Dillon for once again sharing this lovely gift with the wider PPN!

Namaste.

You can access a wide range of FREE training for you and other members of your organisations with The Wheel, Carmichael, and  Volunteer Ireland  If you don’t have time to do the training sessions, perhaps ask one of your volunteers to do it and share it with you afterwards!  If you would like to have volunteers working with you, get in touch with Dublin City Volunteer Centre for supports and services in this area.  You can find out what volunteering roles are available now, or how to recruit volunteers to your programme here

If you can, please follow us on social media, follow our website updates, and please share this bulletin with other people in your organisations and networks.  Please contact Ruth on or Beatriz on if you have any suggestions, questions, comments or advice.
