  • National Volunteering Week is taking place this year from 16 – 22 May.  The PPN hosts, Dublin City Volunteer Centre, have a series of events and a selection of volunteer stories to share throughout the week.  If you would like to find out more about how your organisation can get involved in #NVW22 go to this webpage here.
  • Dublin’s energy agency, Codema, is delighted to invite you to the launch of the results of the Dublin Region Energy Master Plan on Wednesday 01 June, from 11.00am  This master plan provides realistic, evidence-based pathways for the Dublin region to achieve its carbon emission reduction targets and you can register here.
  • There is a “Return to Learning Drop-In Information Session”, with TU Dublin, on Wednesday 18 May from 10.00am – 1.00pm at St Laurence’s TU Dublin Campus, Grangegorman Lower, D7.  Find out more here.
  • If you would like to learn how to use the Environmental Sensitivity Mapping Webtool, with Ainhoa Gonzales, and Justin Gleeson, there is a webinar about this on 18 May from 10.00am – 1.00pm  You can register for this FREE event here.
  • ResPoNCE are investigating the impact of Covid-19 on persons with disabilities.  If you, or people in your organisation have time to complete a questionnaire, you can do so here.
  • There is an interesting webinar taking place on 24 May, delivered by Equity by Design, on the access, or lack of access to public toilets for older people in cities.  If you would like to know more about this webinar, you can read more and register here.
  • The Department of Rural and Community Development have launched their Community Centres Investment Fund.  The closing date for this fund is 14 July, and you can find further details here.  Funding is possible under three categories, with grants of between €10,000 to €30,000 available to groups and organisations.

PPN Events

  • Please register if you would like to come to the PPN Plenary in St Patrick’s Cathedral, on 26 May, from 7.00pm – 8.30pm here.
  • Please also register for one, or more of the PPN/DCU Summer School sessions HERE.  We are offering nine, FREE, 2-hour, in-person training sessions from 30 May to 04 June, on a wide variety of topics and themes. 

Topics include:  trans awareness, conflict management, communicating, social media, equality, chairing an effective meeting, resilience, project management and public speaking skills! 

All welcome!

  • Last Thursday of the Month Member’s Meet-Up:  the next Last Thursday meeting will take place online, on 30 June, and the title for this meeting is:  Keeping it Environmental. Further details on the guest speaker to follow.
