General Information

Please find here a migration information campaign pack, which is a cross-government public information campaign, to make it easier to find factual information about migration and how immigration services work.  Please share this important campaign pack with other people from your PPN member group.

PPN Member Group, Smashing Times, launched the Dublin Arts and Human Rights festival on Friday 11 October, and events continue until 20 October.  Smashing Times is dedicated to the promotion, study and practice of the arts, human rights, climate justice and gender equality.  You can read more about the festival here.

You are invited to the SDGs National Stakeholder Forum on 21 October, from 10.00am – 4.30pm  at the Hibernia Conference Centre, Dublin Castle.  You can download your in person or online ticket here.  PPN Member Group, Independent Living Movement of Ireland (ILMI), will be presenting at this forum:  during the session entitled, “Climate, Community and Connectivity:  Ensuring Disability Inclusivity in Transport”.

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service urgently needs an additional 2000 blood donations over the next four weeks to support the national blood supply.  You can check your eligibility to give blood, and book an appointment online or by telephone here.  Please share this information with other people from your PPN member group.

PPN Member Group, All Together in Dignity (ATD), mark International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, at 11.00am at the Human Rights and Poverty Stone, Famine Statues, Custom House Quay on Thursday 17 October.  Dublin City PPN has signed up to ATD’s campaign to add the 10th, which is a campaign to have socio-economic discrimination recognised as the 10th ground of discrimination in Irish equality legislation.  You can read more about ATD’s work here.

Quality Matters invite you to Ireland’s 3rd National Trauma-Informed Practice Conference on 07 November in the Grand Hotel, Malahide. The conference is called, “TIP in challenging times”, and it will focus on how people can bring evidence-based compassion into the systems and communities that need it most.

Inland Fisheries Ireland have a new funding scheme for individuals are socially, economically and educationally disadvantaged as well as those with disabilities, to the recreational benefits of fishing.  If your member group is interested in this scheme, you can read more and check the criteria for applications here.

The Artist and the City…is a one-day symposium, programmed by DCU arts council writer in residence, Aingeala Flannery, to explore the artists relationship with the city, with a focus on north Dublin.  Featuring a workshop, writing clinics, readings, a panel discussion and a film screening for a day of literature and creativity.  You can read more here.

PPN Training and Events

The PPN Plenary will take place on Thursday 21 November, from 6.30pm – 8.30pm (venue to be confirmed).  Further details and registration to come, but please do save the date.

Updates from the Secretariat and Representatives

The core work of the PPN is to assist PPN member groups to participate in local authority decision making.  To that end, the PPN has 21 PPN representatives across 7 Strategic Policy Committees (SPCs), Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) and Joint Policing Committee (JPC).  You can read more about the committees that align with your work, here.

Six Dublin City PPN members and staff will be at the PPN National Conference in Limerick Thursday 17 and Friday 18 October.  This is an opportunity for national sharing and learning, and a chance to network between PPNs.
