Dublin City PPN is very happy to launch its new LinkedIn page here: Dublin City Public Participation Network (PPN) | LinkedIn  If you’re on LinkedIn, please pop over to this page and follow it for information about the PPN, updates about PPN training sessions, and further notices about the core work of the PPN:  which is to help member groups, participate in local authority decision making (via the committee work in Dublin City Council).

The Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC), launched two public consultations, in relation to the environment on Friday 07 March, 2025, and both are open from 07 March until 07 April.  You can find out more about the consultations, and how to get involved here.

Dublin Community Growers invite you to their Spring Gathering and AGM, at the Rediscovery Centre on 22 March.  All environment pillar groups welcome and anyone with an interest in the environment.  The details of the gathering are here.

Minister for Mental Health Mary Butler, has launched a public consultation to inform the development of Ireland’s next suicide reduction policy and the closing date for this public consultation is 5.00pm on Friday 18 April, 2025.  Further information about this consultation is here.

Anam Cara’s Parent Support Evening, will take place on Wednesday 19 March at 7.30pm in the Hilton Hotel, Malahide Road.  No registration is needed for this event.

Technological University Dublin (TUD), invite PPN members to apply for the Social Economy Enterprise Development Module, which you can find out more about here.  The aim of the module is to introduce the learner to the key concepts, theories and practice of economy enterprise development.  The closing date for applications is 04 July, 2025.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), is seeking a number of Presidency Policy Officers (administrative officer level), for temporary positions for the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.  You can find out more about the application process here.

PPN Training

Part two of the Spring Season of PPN Training Sessions

The PPN is delighted to announce that we have FOUR FREE places on the Diversity and Inclusion online course, delivered by The Wheel and Carmichael, called “Embracing Diversity, Encouraging Inclusion”.  Three sessions from 10.00am – 12.00pm on 08 May, 22 May, and 05 June.  The course delves into the barriers that constrain our ability to fully embrace diversity and sustain an inclusive working environment, which includes a deep dive into the impact of biases, how we communicate, collaborate, and make decisions.  Please send an email to Ruth on by 12.00pm Friday, if you would like to have a place on this course.  Please only email if you can attend ALL THREE SESSIONS.

Dublin City PPN invite new members to come to an introduction, and “getting to know you” zoom on the last Tuesday of the month.  The last Tuesday in March, is Tuesday 25 March, and you can find out more about the one-hour session here:  New members meet-up:  an introduction to the PPN on the last Tuesday of the month

Updates from PPN Representatives and Secretariat

Nominations are open for the role of PPN Representative, from the Community and Voluntary Pillar on the Finance Strategic Policy Committee (SPC), with immediate effect.  Due to the stepping down of elected PPN representative, Cathie Hynes, from Neurodiversity Sandymount, as a Community and Voluntary Pillar PPN representative, the PPN is seeking a replacement.  Further details about the nominations process here:  Further information about the Finance SPC here.  Nominations are open until 11.00am, Friday 04 April, 2025.

Meet the Reps:  Every week, we try to bring you a short interview with your newly elected and re-elected representatives, so that you know who to call if you have an issue you would like your reps to take to the relevant committee. This week, we introduce you to Aine Wellard:
