PPN Member Group, the Liberties Community Project were delighted to submit to the Clean Air Strategy 2025 public consultation. They said, “our submission is grounded in the lived experience of residents of Dublin 8, informed by local research, community-led data collection, and national and international evidence. It highlights the close connection between air quality, housing conditions, traffic exposure, access to green space and health inequality in inner-city communities. Communities like the Liberties often experience a disproportionate environmental burden, despite contributing least to the causes of air pollution. We hope our contribution supports the development of a Clean Air Strategy that is equitable, place-based and responsive to these realities. We would welcome further engagement, discussion or participation in pilot initiatives arising from the Strategy — particularly those focused on hyper-local air-quality monitoring, community-led greening, improved housing quality and clean-mobility measures. Thank you to all involved for the opportunity to contribute to this important process.”

The Lord Mayor of Dublin invites PPN member groups, to nominate individuals from their groups, for a Lord Mayor’s Award. The nominations can be of people who “go the extra mile”. Those people who are the unsung heroes in the clubs, schools, among the communities and within our homes. The Lord Mayor’s Award wishes to celebrate the local horoes, the people who are the first to turn up, who stay until the end, who get things started and keep them going. These are the people who make lives better, because of what they do for others. You can nominate people or a Lord Mayor’s Award here.
